Foreign Trade Zones

Foreign Trade Zones (FTZs) are administered under a program created by Congress to encourage companies to keep jobs and investment in the United States. The program removes certain costs and barriers that do not exist in foreign locations.

Ohio FTZs will help your company maximize its return on investment in the United States. Ohio FTZs allow for deferred or reduced tariffs and duties, direct delivery and customs clearance at the site of the FTZ, and reduced merchandise processing fees.

The Lake County Ohio Port and Economic Development Authority can assist you in the creation of a Foreign Trade Zone in Lake County. For more information please contact:

Alliance for Working Together

The Alliance for Working Together was started to address issues, challenges and best practices related to the manufacturing industry in Lake County. Recognizing the development of a skilled workforce as one of the most important issues, AWT decided to work to develop a degree program that would meet the needs of the manufacturers and partnered with Lakeland Community College to develop an Associate of Applied Science degree in Manufacturing. Students not only learn the skills necessary to succeed in a manufacturing career, but they also have the opportunity to build relationships with AWT member companies to apply their knowledge in a practical setting.

For more information, please visit AWT's website.
